Rules

 

 

Chassis

 Any commercially available 1/12 scale rear wheel drive pan car chassis with T-bar or Pivot Ball Link. Independent rear suspension is not allowed. 

Motor

 Any motor on the approved ROAR list.

ESC

Any ESC that does not have dynamic timing i.e. boost or turbo timing options; Or any ESC that has a Blinky mode i.e. a flashing light denotes that no dynamic timing is enabled, is allowed. A 1s specific ESCis recommended for Its plug and play application, a 2s ESC that meets the aforementioned requirements may be used

 

 A 1s specific ESC is recommended for its plug and play application, a 2s ROAR approved ESC that supports 1s application may be used.

N.B. a voltage booster or separate 6.6v LiFe receiver pack will be required to provide consistent power to the servo and receiver.

            Recommended ESCs:

            Budget: Trackstar GenII One Cell 120A 1/12 scale Sensored Brushless ESC

            Highly recommended: Hobbywing XeRun XR10 Pro 1s

            Recommended voltage booster for use with 2s esc: Hobbywing 1s DC-DC booster

            Recommended receiver battery: Dynamite 6.6v 220mAh LiFe Receiver Pack w/switch

 

*Please only use a LiFe rx battery for safety purposes as they are significantly safer than LiPo batteries if the voltage drops below the safe rating.

Body Shell

Only LM-style body shells on the approved body list provided by IFMAR, EFRA, ROAR or BRCA may be used. Additional side dams may not be fitted. Only side dams moulded into the original body shell are allowed. Body shell may not be trimmed higher than the lower body trim lines - wheel arches must be cut out. No part of the chassis, wheels, tyres, suspension or electrical equipment may be visible outside the body shell when viewed in any plane, except for directly from the rear of the chassis. Rollover antenna may be fitted. If fitted, it must have a blunt end for safety reasons. The antenna must be part of the mast along its length. Maximum height from the ground: 350mm

N.B You are welcome to use GT12 bodyshells.

Wings

Only one rear wing, moulded into the body shell, may be used. An additional gurney flap may be fitted, provided it does not exceed the height of the originally moulded rear wing. No holes or slots are allowed on the body or wing, except for body post, aerial and club rental transponder holes.

Tyres

Only 1/12 scale foam tyres may be used. Pre-mounted or user glued tyres are allowed. Wheel dimension must not be smaller than 29mm and must not exceed 38mm.

Maximum rear tyre width: 40mm

Maximum front tyre width: 28mm

N.B. While truing is recommended for foam tyres it is not necessary with the new Ulti tyres recommended above as they come pre-trued to the correct diameter for asphalt from the factory. 

Hop-Ups

All hop-ups for 1/12 scale pan cars are allowed. 

Batteries

Any ROAR approved 1s (one cell) Li-Poly hardcase battery is allowed. HV Graphene batteries are allowed however, maximum charged voltage must not exceed 4.22v.

            Recommended budget battery:

            Turnigy Nano-Tech 6800mah 1s 3.7v 

Gearing

Any gearing is allowed. 

Recommended gearing:

            Between 1.5 and 1.7 ratio (based on new Ulti Tyres)

 

N.B. Please use the recommendation as a starting point - gearing will vary based on motor choice and rollout.

Driving Aids

No electronic driving aids (steering control by gyroscope, Drag Reduction System, wheel speed sensors, etc.). Transmitter functions are allowed.

 Minimum ride height allowed is 3mm at race ride height.
